Preserving Zydeco. Protecting Culture. Empowering Community.

The New Orleans Zydeco Foundation is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving, protecting, and promoting Zydeco music and Louisiana Creole culture for present and future generations.

Rooted in community and driven by cultural responsibility, the Foundation supports education, intergenerational engagement, and cultural programming that ensures Zydeco remains a living, evolving tradition—not just a memory.

  • Cultural Preservation & Education

We support workshops, demonstrations, and educational initiatives that teach the history, music, and dance traditions of Zydeco and Creole culture.

  • Community Programming

From festivals to year-round events, we create spaces where culture is shared across generations and communities gather in celebration.

  • Artist & Culture Bearer Support

We uplift Zydeco musicians, dancers, and tradition keepers by providing platforms, resources, and visibility for their work.

  • Festivals & Public Celebrations

The Foundation produces and supports cultural festivals—most notably NOLA Zydeco Fest—as a way to activate culture in real time and reach broad audiences.
